When you imagine people practicing yoga do you imagine super bendy people getting themselves to into shapes you wouldn’t be able to achieve in your wildest dreams? If so, you would be surprised to hear that yoga can actually be really beneficial for people with mobility or disability issues.
Chair Yoga at Deva invites you to find mobility in a way that is soft and gentle but also really supportive and beneficial. It is a great practise for everyone, it deepens flexibility and strengthens personal body awareness.
Benefits include improved strength; you will be able to keep up with your daily activities and hobbies and will be able to repair more easily from injuries. You will gain improved flexibility and coordination, you may find it easier to pick up things off the floor and you will also have a greater awareness of your body and spatial awareness which can help prevent falls.
Chair yoga can also lessen pain, reduce stress and induce better sleep, all of those things that can mean your daily lives are easier and more enjoyable.
